At 2348hrs on Tuesday 2nd December Wingello RFB was called out to a bushfire to the west of Bundanoon. The weather on that evening gave no indication as to the intensity of the fire behaviour to be experienced. Bundanoon RFB was the primary brigade and were supported by Penrose RFB, Exeter RFB, Moss Vale RFB and Wingello RFB and all brigades remained on the fireground until around 0700 on the Wednesday. Mopping up and patrolling took place over the next two days and was supported by aircraft and the NPWS and Blue Mountains RFS RAFT teams. The fire although on private property was very close to jumping into Morton National Park however this was averted. The photos below depict the Wingello RFB involvement over the three days of the fire.
